Mr. Barnes received a B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Before law school, Mr. Barnes worked with a private learning company that teaches children with learning disabilities. Following law school, Mr. Barnes served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Richard E. Jordan in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barnes served under Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy as an Assistant State’s Attorney for four years, where he rose to the Felony Trial Team.
