ADCVR attorneys, Erica Mudd and Benjamin Laufer, secured dismissal of an action on behalf of a corporate defendant in a medical negligence case pending in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland. The plaintiff alleged that health care providers failed to properly treat her condition. The plaintiff attempted to certify her claims with deposition testimony from a treating provider, which defendant argued was not sufficient under the applicable statute. German A. Rodriguez, Esquire joined ADCVR as an Associate on September 3, 2014. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rodriguez served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Justin J. King in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Mr. Rodriguez received his juris doctorate with honors from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was an editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review and a MSBA/UB Business Law Fellow. ADCVR Attorney Ben Laufer Secures Summary Judgment

ADCVR attorney, Benjamin Laufer, secured SUMMARY JUDGMENT in favor of a corporate defendant in a premises liabilty action pending in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. The plaintiff alleged that she fell on a slippery substance that had been placed on the ground. However, the plaintiff failed to produce any sufficient evidence that the defendant had notice of a dangerous condition. The Court agreed and granted the defendant’s motion for summary judgment.

ADCVR attorneys, Ed Gonsalves and Benjamin Laufer, secured SUMMARY JUDGMENT on statute of limitations grounds on behalf of a physicians’ group in a medical malpractice action pending in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. The plaintiff had alleged that pathologists in the group breached applicable standards of care when rendering an intraoperative diagnosis of malignancy during a lung biopsy. ADCVR attorneys, Ken Armstrong and Karen Ferretti, recently obtained a defense verdict in a wrongful death case in the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland.
