ADCV&R Welcomes Carolyn Demougeot

Carolyn Demougeot, Esquire joined ADCV&R as an Associate in April 2020. Ms. Demougeot concentrates her practice in the defense of health care providers. Her prior experience includes working as a criminal defense attorney, personal injury attorney, and serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Beverly J. Woodard in the Prince George’s County Circuit Court.

Erica Mudd and German Rodriguez Obtain Decisions from the Court of Appeals and Court of Special Appeals of Maryland

ADCVR attorneys, Erica Mudd and German Rodriguez, received an Opinion from the Court of Special Appeals, in favor of their client, a health care provider defendant, affirming an Order issued by the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland, dismissing an action for medical negligence on statute of limitations grounds.


Erica Mudd Obtains Summary Judgment on Statute of Limitations Grounds

ADCVR attorney, Erica Mudd, obtained summary judgment in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland, following the close of discovery, in a case filed against her client, a health care provider defendant, on statute of limitations grounds. In this case, plaintiff advanced a claim for medical negligence related to a nerve injury. Plaintiff sought non-economic damages, and economic damages for past and future medical expenses, and loss of future earnings.


Alex Adkins Secures a Defense Judgment in Wicomico County, Maryland

ADCVR attorney, Alex Adkins, recently secured a defense judgment on behalf of a health care provider in the District Court of Maryland for Wicomico County. The Plaintiff alleged that the provider failed to render appropriate care to a postpartum patient. At the close of the Plaintiff’s case-in-chief, the District Court granted Alex’s motion for judgment resulting in a judgment in favor of the health care provider.
