Karen S. Karlin, Esquire joined ADCV&R as a Partner in May 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Karlin practiced in the field of insurance defense litigation, focusing on the defense of health care providers. She has extensive experience in defending complex medical malpractice claims, as well as appeals and professional liability matters. Prior to entering private practice in 1995, Ms. Karlin served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Richard A. Levie in the Superior Court of the District​

Giovanna A. Miller, Esquire joined ADCV&R as an Associate in April 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Miller practiced in the fields of criminal prosecution and criminal defense. She has a wealth of trial experience and she has handled hundreds of trials in the District and Circuit Courts, including approximately 20 jury trials. Ms. Miller is a zealous, skilled, and passionate advocate who is dedicated to serving her clients.

Edward Gonsalves and German Rodriquez Obtain Summary Judgment at trial in Fairfax County

ADCVR attorneys Edward Gonsalves and German Rodriguez recently secured summary judgment for their client, a large health management organization and one of its employees, at a trial in the Fairfax Circuit Court in Fairfax, Virginia. The Plaintiff alleged tortious interference with contract, conspiracy, fraud, and breach of contract arising from the termination of a multi-year, multi-million dollar commercial services contract.


Ken Armstrong Obtains a Defense Verdict in Montgomery County

ADCVR attorney, Ken Armstrong, recently obtained a defense verdict in a medical malpractice case in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. The plaintiffs alleged wrongful death for failure to diagnose a myocardial infarction and failure to order timely cardiac catheterization. Following a ten day jury trial, the jury found that Ken’s client, a cardiologist, complied with applicable standards of care, and judgment was entered in favor of the cardiologist.

Andrew Marter Obtains Defense Verdict in Baltimore County Jury Trial

ADCVR attorney, Andrew Marter, recently obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a podiatric surgeon in a case alleging medical malpractice. The case was filed in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Maryland. The plaintiff alleged permanent pain and deformity to her foot and toes following surgery performed by the defendant surgeon. Following a three day jury trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the surgeon.
