Alex Adkins Obtains a Defense Verdict in Harford County

ADCVR attorney, Alex Adkins, recently obtained a defense verdict in a veterinary medical negligence case in the District Court for Harford County, Maryland. The Plaintiff alleged that the veterinarian did not render appropriate care to a patient in respiratory distress. After a one day bench trial, the Court rendered a verdict in favor of the veterinarian.

Alexandra H. Adkins, Esquire joined ADCV&R as an Associate in February 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Adkins practiced for several years in the field of civil litigation defense. She also has extensive experience in general liability and personal injury claims, as well as appeals and criminal matters. Andrew Marter and Gretchen Slater Obtain a Defense Verdict in Montgomery County

ADCVR attorneys, Andrew Marter and Gretchen Slater, recently obtained a defense verdict in favor of their physician client in a wrongful death and survival action filed in the Circuit Court of Maryland for Montgomery County. The plaintiffs alleged medical negligence. They argued that the physician, a cardiologist, inappropriately prescribed a medication for the patient’s atrial arrhythmia, and that the medication resulted in respiratory failure and death. Rob Maynard Obtains a Defense Verdict in Prince George's County

ADCV&R Partner, Rob Maynard, recently obtained a defense verdict in a medical negligence case in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. The Plaintiffs filed a wrongful birth case, alleging that they were not properly advised of the risk that they could have a child with Down syndrome. Following a five day trial, the jury delivered a defense verdict.


ADCVR Welcomes Lynette N. Vitanza, RN, JD

Lynette N. Vitanza, RN, JD joined ADCV&R as a nurse paralegal in September 2016. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Vitanza was a high-risk obstetrical nurse. As an adjunct professor of nursing, she developed two curricula dealing with the legal and ethical of nursing practice and women’s health issues. She also worked as a risk manager for a large metropolitan medical center conducting root cause analyses, implementing quality of care initiatives and teaching risk reduction strategies to healthc​


Ken Armstrong and Ed Gonsalves Obtain a Defense Verdict

ADCVR attorneys, Ken Armstrong and Ed Gonsalves, recently obtained a defense verdict in a wrongful death medical negligence case in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. The Plaintiffs alleged that a physician failed to timely diagnose and treat cardiac ischemia. After a six day jury trial, a defense verdict was rendered. The jury found that the physician complied with applicable standards of care.
