Professional Experience
Becky is the
firm’s Nurse Paralegal. She is a native Minnesotan, but was raised
in Simsbury, Connecticut. She graduated from Duke University with a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and began her nursing career at the
National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Over the years
she has worked at private physicians’ practices in Maryland,
including The Washington Clinic, and Upjohn Healthcare Services.
The majority of her nursing career was spent at Kaiser Permanente
Mid-Atlantic States, as an Advice Nurse for over 15 years and then
as a Risk Manager.
In 2004, Becky graduated summa cum
laude from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing Paralegal Studies. During her years there, she was inducted
into Lambda Epsilon Chi, the national paralegal honor society
and Alpha Chi, a national college honor society. She was
also named 2004’s Most Outstanding Part-Time Student. While at
Villa Julie, she designed an Independent Study at the Community
Conferencing Center, an Alternative Dispute Resolution program in
Baltimore City, where she worked with juvenile first-time offenders,
their victims, and families.
In her free time, Becky enjoys
traveling with her family. Her husband, David, is a software
engineer and her son, Brooks, is a student at Bard College. A few
of her favorite adventures have included climbing three of the 49
High Peaks in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, scaling Mount
Snowden, the highest mountain in Great Britain, and hiking on a
glacier in Norway. Other interests include genealogy, fencing, and
photography.
Community service is also important to
Becky. She was appointed to the Family Life Advisory Committee in
Frederick, Maryland by the Board of Education in 2000 and continues
to serve. She is an Emergency Preparedness Volunteer Nurse for the
Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Becky is past
Regent for the Frederick Chapter of the Daughters of the American
Revolution.
